The site comprises approx 70 acres of farmland including a lake, bungalow and various outbuildings. The client has demolished the majority of the existing buildings and has completed a new contemporary family home beside the lake.

The new house is 700 square metres with extensive views of the surrounding countryside and is designed to link visually with the lake. A new boathouse/home office has also been constructed on the lakeside. The orientation of the building maximises passive solar gain when required and passive ventilation.

Energy efficient systems using the lake as a thermal sink provides additional heating and cooling as necessary. The client is also creating a new parkland setting for the house with extensive tree planting.
